A precious little Bean…

Children· everything· Family

5 May

For over a year now I have been following an amazing blogger. Katie is no ordinary blogger, she is one of the greatest “Mommy Blogger”‘s I’ve ever read. I know what your saying Internet, why do you, the mother of a golden retriever, follow a Mommy Blogger? Because shes WAY more then just a Mommy blogger. Katie’s a life blogger. I cannot tell you how many times I have laughed and cried with Katie. She blogs honestly about everything that goes on in her life, the good and the bad. She’s honest, and hilarious, passionate, and compassionate and overall just an amazing wife and mother. I never get enough of Katie’s stories about her sweet husband Chris, and her baby boy, Michael (who she, and now the entire world lovingly call “the Bean”). I fell in love with Katie and Chris’s story, of how they were high school sweethearts, I laughed when Katie blogged about searching for daycare for the Bean, I cried when she talked about the ups and downs that a marriage can face when having a baby, I giggled when Chris blogged on his own part of the website, the man cave, about having to go shopping. Because of Katie’s amazing ability to give life to words, I felt like I’ve watched the Bean, along with his Mommy and Daddy grow into a fantastic family, so when the Marriage Confessions family announced they were moving to Florida I begged, I mean, asked them if they wanted some photos done? I was super excited when Katie said yes, so I headed down to Orlando last week to photograph them at the gorgeous Casa Feliz. Katie being the blogger she is, even posted all about her experience! Her words made me laugh out loud and anyone who has ever had a photo session with a little one will definitely relate. See, Katie and I have something in common. Something very BIG in common. We are both following our passion in life. I photograph, Katie writes, and while these things may seem completely different, they aren’t. Its what makes us tick. It’s what we love to do for ourselves, and for others. We want to make a difference in peoples lives, me with my photographs and Katie with her words. So it was an honor to team up with someone who puts just as much love and hard work into her blog, as I do into capturing images of my amazing clients.

Katie, Chris, and Bean Man, Thank you SO much for allowing me to document your life, I hope I was able to capture the funny, warm, loving, and inspiring family that you really are. Hope to see you all soon!

A little Bean and Mommy time…

Not to be outdone by a little Bean and Daddy time…

While Chris and Katie are AWESOME parents, they are also, a couple. So I wanted to make sure to grab some images of just the two of them.

I also grabbed a few shots of Katie to use for some promotional stuff as well!

Bean Man, I know you may kill me and your parents for this when it comes time for you to impress the ladies, but I’ll leave you with this. Have you ever seen a little man love a teddy bear so much!!

If you have followed me for a minute I am sure you If you have followed me for a minute I am sure you would recognize this woman. When I photographed her Wedding years ago I had no idea how happy I would be to have @mrsmakeitrainka in my life!!!! She is an incredible Woman and Mom and a million other things. She has been such a wonderful friend to me and I am crazy thankful to know her. At our last content shoot (precovid and still with a chill in the air) we had a little fun with some video and I threw together a little something for her with some images I have taken over the years. My edit skills are lacking but it was so fun to create and show another side of her! Shout out to another client and dear friend @shopacutabove @brittneypatty for letting us use your perfect #jaxmural
I had so many caption for this photo of my beautif I had so many caption for this photo of my beautiful couple who married the day before our State sheltered in place. So, lets keep it real. I am one month out from my first post Covid “big” Wedding. I have photographed a few elopements since the world fell apart (in more ways then one..) I am anxious to get back to beautiful gowns, love, laughter, family. With all that has happened in this world in the last few months I realize these events will never be the same, but I see them as reasons to believe in the future, to believe in faith, hope and love.

I have been sheltering in place. I have been hiding from social media. It just became to much. If you know me you know I wear my heart in my sleeve, nothing is ever “just business” it is always personal. I hold peoples worries and fears on my own shoulders right along with mine. My heart was breaking, the industry was falling apart and we started fighting a war that should’ve been over 100’s of years ago. At first I was afraid of not working for months, then I became fearful and afraid for loved ones who were diagnosed with Covid, then I became worried because my beautiful boys mental health will forever be affected by this and I had to choose being a Mother over my business for a short time, then I fell apart when I saw what the world was doing to beautiful humans who deserve every opportunity in life no matter their skin color. I was afraid. Heartbroken. I placed my son in front of every report of protests to reinstate everything I have taught him his whole life. We talked about Americas ugly history. We talked about kindness, empathy, loving people for who they are. He just kept saying “Why?”. I finally said what do you mean “Why”???? He had tears in his eyes and said why would people hurt someone because of their skin color”. Exactly. Why? I will never have the right words. I just know that it is my BIGGEST job to teach this child. Black lives matter, even if he doesn’t see color, and I pray he will always keep his kindness and compassion and continue on to fight for peoples rights.
