Canvas or Standouts?

Children· everything· Family· Newborns

12 Nov
Two of my VERY favorite products are Gallery Wrapped Canvas products and a cool product called Standouts. I decided to dedicate a post to explaining the difference in the two for all my clients! You can’t go wrong with either option, I think it just comes down to what you want aesthetically in a product.

First up, the standout.

This is actually a storyboard canvas (more about storyboards in another blog post). this particular standout is a 16×20 storyboard, which allows me to use more then one photo. A standout is a little more economical then a canvas option, and has a very clean modern look. Printed on fine quality, archival photographic paper, mounted on thick 1.5″ lightweight board, and then finished off with a thin black or white frame around the edges to look amazing from any angle.Standouts make photo wall arrangements easy. They come in many sizes, and I really love when clients have had multiple square standouts printed and hang them gallery style in their home.

The best part about standouts, is that they come with holes already in the back ready to be hung! No framing required.

I absolutley love Gallery wrapped canvas. I can’t tell you how many times I see images and I say, if this were my child I would have this in a 24×36 canvas! I love seeing images huge, and there is no better way to see them large then in a canvas. My canvas company specializes in custom made gallery-wrapped canvas prints, offering over 5,000 custom sizes between 6″x6″ to 60″x100″. Every print is sprayed with a UV coating and meticulously stretched around a 1.5″ thick frame.

This particular print is an 11×14 of sweet baby Parker. As you can see, one of the main differences between a stand out and a gallery wrapped canvas is that the image is wrapped around the canvas stretcher frame.

They also come with a wire hanger standard on the back of all prints. You can also choose to have the image backed with paper and sawtooth hangers.

Stay tuned for more about storyboards! All options make awesome Holiday gifts for Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, or yourself!
