We lived literally 4 feet apart in dorm rooms across from each other. I could yell Lindsays name from my desk and she could hear what I was saying. She called a water fountain a “bubbler”, and soda “pop”. She was from a state that got a ton of snow every winter, Id barely ever seen snow. She was SO different. And I loved her immediatley. Her laugh easily filled up a room and she was just about the most fun person I had ever met. Lindsay became my partner in crime. I cant even count the memories I have of the two of us in one location or another laughing so hard we couldnt see straight. Waking up after a big night out giggling over everything that went down the night before. The pink champagne, the road trips. Some of my very best college memories involve my Lindsey. Ironically enough, the first time I ever met John, her husband, was at our annual “mini reunion” a few years after we’d graduated. I knew instantly he was the one. I’ve loved Lindsays laugh from the moment I’d met her, and no boy, until John, had ever made her laugh like that. He was perfect. Cheering on our alma mater like he’d attended UF himself. Playing tailgating games, helping grill out just like he was an old friend. So, when Lindsay called me one night to tell me they were engaged I wasn’t at all surprised, and I was so over the moon that they would finally be tying the knot. I was even more overwhelmed when she asked to fly me out to California to photograph her New Years Eve wedding. Many of my Brides have seen me shed a tear or two on their wedding day. Sometimes the love and emotion of the day gets to me and I cant help myself. Especially during Father Daughter dances, sheesh. They get me everytime. When my Lindsay walked around the corner and down the aisle I couldn’t contain myself. I cried behind the camera at the look on her face. Tears pooling around her eyes, she sparkled like Id never seen her sparkle before. She was literally glowing, all of the love of her friends and family had gotten to her, she looked so incredibly beautiful, so at peace, so happy. I will never forget that moment. I’m sure she and John never will either. Wisconsin, I cannot even believe I was lucky enough to photograph your wedding day. It was perfection (and the fact that I photographed the majority of your reception while dancing with you on the dance floor made it even better). I love you and John so much I can hardly stand it. Miss you and can’t wait to see you both again soon.
Loved the San Deigo view from the hotel!
Linds and John decided to see each other before their wedding. Their New Years Eve Wedding didn’t happen till long after sunset, and they really wanted to show off all that beautiful California sunshine in their wedding images. We took almost 2 hours for photos before. It was fantastic, leaving Linds and John to enjoy their cocktail hour with their guests.
Love these pics of Linds showing off her dress to John for the first time.
We wandered around Balboa Park for a bit photographing these two and their Bridal Party. Beautiful California light, and a beautiful couple. Perfection.
It was New Years Eve after all!!! (Sidenote, we picked confetti out of Lindsay’ hair for a good half hour after this. Shes a good sport!)
I had to include all three of these images. These are SO Lindsay.

I love each and every one of these pictures, and the recap of your friendship brought tears to my eyes. Linds and John – you two are perfect for one another and I’m sure people who don’t even know you will be able to see that in your pictures together.
I’d go back to your wedding day over and over and over again – it was such a perfect day for a perfect couple.

Your words made me cry; such a great recap of our friendship (I love that you still occasionally call me “Wisconsin”). Its my dream come true: my perfect guy, our perfect wedding, captured frame-by-frame by one of the most talented photographers, made only more special because you are one of my best friends. I will always love seeing these photos!
