A few weeks ago I took a little road trip up to North Carolina to visit one of my best friends. While I was there I managed to fit in a few sessions, which I love doing. Its so fun to go somewhere new and to photograph in brand new locations. It really makes my creativity flow. When I met these two sisters I knew it was going to be an amazing session. 1. I love teenage girls (they are so fun!!!) 2. They wanted their session to take place at their family home, a 1902 farm house surrounded by beautiful fields and barns and 3. They were the most loving, beautiful, sweet and precious girls. This session is probably one of my favorites to date. I mentioned above that I love teenage girls. Its true. When I photograph girls at this age I can’t help but to be taken back to the moment in time when I was “those girls”. Young, beautiful, carefree, busy falling in and out of love. Where my whole world revolved around my family and my friends. The most important thing was what we were going to do Friday night after the football game. A time when there is so much out there in front of you that the possibilities are endless. I wanted so bad to capture Amanda and Ashelynn this way. So that, 10 years down the road, when they find themselves grown they can look back and remember who they were then. I had such an amazing time with these girls. We started their session on the dirt road that leads to their home, walked barefoot through their horse pasture and back to an old abandoned garage behind their house, then we loaded up their Daddies pick up truck with an old rattan sofa and headed out to a beautiful field and ended their session as the sun set beside a beautiful abandoned barn. Giggling and laughing the entire time. Amanda and Ashelynn thank you for allowing me a glimpse into your world, and for reminding me of all the beauty there is out there. Reminding me of who I used to be years and years ago, and inspiring me to continue to believe there is an entire world of possibilites out there for the taking.
