A Christmas Baby

Sweet baby Joe was born on Christmas Eve! Such a wonderful Christmas present. A much deserved gift to one of my very closest friends. Joe’s Mom and I met in College and from the moment I met her I knew she would be one of those friends that is a part of your life for a very long time. Jen is such an amazing, compassionate woman and I was so excited when I found out that she was expecting. Jen is a natural born Mommy. I always knew she would make an exeptional Mom, especially when she asked for a Kitchen Aid mixer on her 21st birthday. There’s another amazing thing about Jen, her strength. Joe’s Daddy, Clay, was deployed not long after they found out they were expecting. Which meant that he was still deployed when Jen gave birth. I cannot wait for Clay to get home safe and sound and see his precious baby boy. Here are a few photos that I took while visiting with sweet baby Joe. Jen and Clay, I am so glad you are in my life, and I love this little boy so much I cannot take it!!!

My beautiful friend, who is 100% glowing with new Mommy happiness.

Joe and his Grandma!

A very BIG yawn!

Happy 1st Birthday!
Last weekend I spent some time photographing Matthew for his first birthday! Matthew just happens to be a third child and we all know what happens to third children…less pictures then the other 2 children! So we decided to dedicate the day to little Matthew…who wasn’t 100% sold on my camera but we still managed to get a few smiles out of him.

Sometimes crawling is still the quickest way to get around!

I just love how his little legs are crossed here.

Salty Dog

I love living in Florida. I really love living in Florida in the Winter time. Especially when I wake up to reports of the rest of America covered in a foot of snow while I debate on whether or not I even need long sleeves that day. It’s weather like this that allowed me to spend Christmas Eve at the beach with Gator and his Mom Tarah for a photo session. Gator was in town from up North so I am also pretty sure he enjoyed running through sand instead of snow for a change.

Did I mention I love when their ears flop?

  • Amy: If you are ever in the DC area, can I arrange a photo shoot with Lola? She's such an attention whore she would love it! And your pictures turn out much, much better than mine ever would. (January 6, 2009 12:42 pm)

Florida Wildlife

Many people think Florida is full of the same palm trees from one end of the state to the other. This isn’t exactly true. Sure, Jacksonville has the same sunny skies and sandy beaches that South Florida has. We have the same sweltering humid summers, but there is one thing Miami has that Jax does not. These guys! These Iguanas live out their days in the wild down South, something that could never happen here in North Florida since we do get some pretty chilly winters. These wild Iguanas roam free down South enjoying the warm humid weather year round which lets them grow quite large! I thought I would share some photos of these guys with everyone. It’s not everyday you get to see wild lizards roaming the streets of Ft. Lauderdale.

Know what else South Florida has that Jacksonville doesn’t? My super handsome cousin Austin!
