Kate Gardner turns 9 Months! Jacksonville Family Photographer

Little Kate Gardner is on the Babys first year plan so Ive been photographing her every three months since she was born!! If youve been following along on the blog Im sure you will recognize her. So much love in this little girls eyes. I really believe Kate had the best time at this session. We let her run free and play in the moss and leaves and she loved it. I’m so behind in blogging that KG’s 1st Birthday Session is next week!!! Can you believe it!

I Love this photo so much. We were about an hour and a half into our session, running well past KG’s lunch and nap time, so a meltdown was inevitable. But I love how both her Mama and Daddys hands are in this. Both with whatever object could be found trying to bring her around. So funny.

Cassie and Hugh’s Savannah Maternity Session – Savannah Maternity Photographer

I met Cassie over 11 years ago. We were both in college and the first thing I remember thinking was how beautiful she was, inside and out. She had this sweet, calm, air about her. We shared a love for reading to. Thats one thing that stands out to me. I remember giving Cassie stacks of books to read, and she’d bring them all back to me in about 3 days. Fully read, and we’d discuss. It was our own little book club. When I found out Cassie and Hugh were expecting, and that they’d wanted me to photograph this super exciting time in their lives I was so excited. I hadn’t met Hugh, but I could tell they had an incredible love for each other and their growing baby girl that I couldn’t wait to document it. When I was in Savannah for a wedding we met up at the amazing Wormsloe Historic Park, which actually, was the same place Hugh proposed. A fitting place to show off Cassie’s beautiful baby bump. Cassie and Hugh, I cannot WAIT to see your baby girl! Your going to be incredible parents!!!

Sarah and Adam – Atlantic Beach Engagement Session

I’m not sure Ive ever laughed as hard as when I was photographing Sarah and Adam. Mostly because the two of them crack each other up, and its infectious. They were so adorable!!!! High School Sweethearts, and the loves of each others lives. Their story is one for lifetime specials. The two of them together is so fun to watch. You get they are best friends. That they’ve shared so many moments together, grown up with each other, and grown more in love with each other as the years past. We headed down to Atlantic/Neptune Beach to photograph their love story. Its also where they live and where they are comfortable with each other, which made it even more fun. I cannot wait for their wedding in September!!

There were alot of things I absolutley loved about Amy and Jeff. One, our mutual love for the University of Florida. We’re all Alumni, we all bleed Orange and Blue, and we all have amazing memories that took place on campus at the University of Florida. Amy and Jeff currently reside in NYC, its where they met actually, even though they both attended UF and never crossed paths. So when they were deciding on a wedding location UF made perfect sense. Even more perfect, the Baughman Center on campus. Their day was absolutley perfect. Beautiful weather, beautiful family members and a beautiful ceremony that perfectly fit the two of them, and their love for each other. Amy and Jeff, miss you guys!! Hope married life, and the big apple, are treating you well!!

I am so incredibly lucky in my career. I am easily, hands down, surrounded by some of the sweetest, kindest people out there. Kaylie and Evan fall right into those categories. So, so, so kind. Southern, sweet, compassionate, in love. All those and so much more. I remember taking a moment during their ceremony and taking everything in. These two are so right for each other. The perfect fit. Best friends. Everything people look for in relationship, these two have. The rain that came down on their wedding day certainly didn’t dampen the love they have for each other, or the light that radiates from the two of them. In fact, as I sit here and write this I just miss them!!! Kaylie and Evan, we need a Sophie and Harley play date soon!!!

Oh this family! I new this family before they were even, officially, a family!! I used to work for these precious girls Father, at a fab country club here in town, running the childrens activities/events. It was pretty much a dream job for me. Planning events, for small children. Yep, pretty perfect. I used to chat with their Mama a few times a week when she came in to work out, I watched their parents plan their wedding, get married, and then have babies! Although, they sure aren’t babies anymore! Every year I see these girls it reminds me how fast time goes. Maddie and Giana, can’t wait to see you all next fall! Hug your Mama and Daddy for me!

Sarah and I had chatted via email and the phone a few times, but I hadn’t had a chance to meet in person until her wedding day. I felt like I had known Sarah forever. Her smile lights up a room, and her laugh is infectious. She brightens a room just by walking in it. That was apparent as she walked arm in arm with her Daddy down the aisle towards Brent. The man she was about to marry. Her best friend. Alot of people came into town to watch these two say I Do. Which made the atmosphere of this wedding fantastic. Everyone was ready for fun! I do believe, when Sarah and Brent were pronounced man and wife there cheers that irrupted from the crowd were amazing. Not to be outdone, however, with the shouts of excitement that filled the room of The Lodge and Club as the Bride and Groom made their grand entrance. It gave me goose bumps. Their guests were out of their chairs, hugging and kissing, and high-fiving all around the couple. That’s what it’s all about right? Marrying the person you’re supposed to be with the rest of your life, surrounded by all of your friends and family who helped to make it all possible. Sarah and Brent, I hope Texas, and married life, are treating you well!!!

I knocked on their door. Nervous, but so overwhelmingly excited. For some reason I could feel in my bones this interview was about to change my life. The door opened, I walked inside, and was immediately greeted by a toddler. She was 2 years old, and running towards me, as fast as her little chubby legs could take her, and wrapped her arms around my knees. All I could make out was the mop of curls on her head. She had me. Right then at that moment. I would do whatever I could in my power to make this child happy. I had to get this job. I had had other nannying jobs, but this was going to be a constant steady job. Every Tuesday and Thursday for as long as they needed someone. I was praying that someone was me. I felt at home, right away. This little angels parents were amazing. Hard working, strong, and put their family first. When they called later that week to tell me the job was mine if I wanted it I was over the moon. How more perfect could this get! An incredible family AND a preciously adorable 2 year old, what a great job to work while I was away at college. Only problem? It wasnt a job. From the moment that little girl walked into my life it wasnt just a job. I lived to spend time with that little Miss. I would sneak her Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal (because she may or may not have always been allowed…sorry Eve!!) just to see her giggle and clap with excitement in the morning when I pulled it out of my backpack. We made weekley trips to the duck pond, we sang songs at the top of our lungs while driving with the windows down because she loved the way the wind felt. I let her kick off her shoes and socks even though we’d just have to put them back on in 5 minutes while we were driving because she liked it, and because I loved how cute her little feet looked in the carseat swinging back and forth. I let her splash in puddles, I took her to the mall just to walk through the Disney store, we did cooking projects because she loved them so much. No matter how messy and complicated. I took her to the library at least twice a week, just because I loved how she’d make me sit on the floor, pull a book from the shelf, then back herself into my lap so I could read to her. Not only was I falling completley and madly in love with this child, I was also falling in love with her parents. They were incredible to watch. Mabry’s Dad was putting himself thorugh Med school, working in a research lab, studying like crazy and still found all the time he could to spend with his family, Mabry’s Mom was working hard as a professor, writing and getting publised in law journals and other publications, and never missed time with Mabry. They were fantastic role models. They taught me so much about life and love. They were my family, still are, whether they like it or not. So, when I graduated from UF I was devestated, but at least Mabs only lived an hour and a half from me. We continued to see each other as much as possible. Mabry coming to stay with me alot over the weekends. I loved watching her turn into this incredible young lady.

When Mabrys parents told me they were moving to Nebraska a few years back I was heartbroken. So this trip up to visit them in Nebraska was just about the greatest thing Ive done in a long time. Mabrys almost a teenager, well not officially, but just about. Shes so grown up. Smart, kind, sweet, and still has the amazing heart that she had at 2 years old. This family is still something that I can just never get over. They are best friends. They remind me so much of my parents and I. It was always just the three of us, just like its always just the three of them. I had the best time spending the weekend there, getting connected again, laughing hysterically over their stories, watching Mabry at a CHEERLEADING competition (if you all know me, you know this is just about the greatest thing to happen to me ever, Mabry Cheerleading). Watching the amazing woman shes becoming, and realizing that she hadn’t forgotten about me. The only thing that had really changed was that I couldnt just pick her up and give her hugs and kisses like I used to. There was still lots of hugs, I’m sure much to Mabrys embarassment Being there with Mabs at this point in our lives I realized I had learned so much from her. How to love a child like they were my own, even though they weren’t. How to make a little girl laugh, how to make her happy, how to make her feel safe and loved. I learned so much about children, what they needed and when they needed it. All of which led me to this line of work. I started my business because I missed being around kids. Missed those little hugs and sticky fingers. This family helped make me who I am today. B. Family, I am so so grateful to have you all in my life. I miss you all so much I just can’t stand it. Love you all.
